Mammoth-Lakes Fly-fishing-Flies

Eastern Sierra Fly Fishing Flies | Mammoth Lakes Flies To Fish

With the economy the way it is now, we all know its very difficult to purchase everything we need for fishing.
I've been doing a ton of research lately to find the best prices on flies.
Big Y Fly is just what I have been looking for. They offer prices starting at just .24 cents a fly.
Now we all know that flies in the shops are around 2 bucks a piece for any size or type of fly.
The only catch is you have to order in bulk, but for these prices bulk really is not to bad.
When ordering in bulk I am talking about 6 fly's to 1 dozen of a single type and size of fly or more.
I really encourage you to check out this link and give it a shot.

I have been fishing Mercer's Poxyback Golden Stonefly for many years now. You will never look into my fly box and not see one in there. I fish size 14s and 16 on our local waters and I've hooked plenty of steelhead on size 6s. When the weather starts to warm and we first see signs of spring, I will start trying them out from time to time. Now within the past 2 weeks I've really started to notice getting a lot of fish on them at Hot Creek. I usually will use them as my point fly because of there weight and size, and have a smaller dropper coming off that. This is the time of year I seem to never take this pattern off, its going to hook fish for you. You can purchase this fly at many fly shops. When you come up to Mammoth Lakes stop in at Rick's and they will point you in the right direction.

With the Blue Wing Olive's coming off in Force right now, I wouldn't go to any of the Eastern Sierra Streams without having a few BWO imitations in your fly box. One of my choice flies right now for Hot Creek and the Lower owens is the new Sloan's Bead Head Mighty May Beatis. I have fished many different types of beatis patterns and this one seems to be out fishing them all right now. I have always tried to fish different styles of flies to show fish just a little something different than the generic patterns they see every day. So if your on your way up to Mammoth Lakes to fish Hot Creek or the Owens River make sure to pick up a few of these flies for your next fly fishing outing.
