Caddis Navigator II Float Tube

Caddis Navigator 2 Float Tube

Over the past few years I have went through many float tubes. If your looking for a relatively cheap tube then I would recommend the Caddis Navigator 2 float tube. I spend countless days and hours in my tube every year. I have fished in just about every tube on the market now. I think for the price you can't beat the Navigator 2. I am a bigger guy and I fit pretty well in this tube. There is plenty of storage room for all your fishing equipment, lunches and drinks. When I am fishing in my float tube I almost always am armed with 2 fly roads. I really like that I can strap my fly rods to the side of the tube. This allows your rods to lay almost flat against the water without them sticking up in the air to snag. The retail price on this tube is 149.99 plus shipping from Bass Pro Shops. Click on the picture to be linked to Bass Pro Shops to purchase this item.

I have fly fished in many different types of fishing waders over the past years in the eastern sierra. When I first entered the fly fishing world after moving to Mammoth Lakes, I started off on the cheap side and spent about 60 dollars on a pair of neoprene waders. They lasted me almost the whole season until finally after fishing in my float tube about 5 days a week they wore out 1 month before the end of the season. I went out and bought a new pair of waders the simms freestone waders. Which were great and held up longer than the other pair. But they soon got some holes fly fishing on the rivers. Simms does have a great warranty program. Its 50 dollars and you mail your waders to Simms and they will repair them for you. But it does take awhile to get them back. So i went out and bought a pair of the Simms G3 Guide waders. I have never been so happy in a pair of waders. With the 5 layers of gortex on the legs and the articulated knees they are comfortable and almost indestructible waders I've ever had on. If your thinking about getting a new pair of waders and are a serious fly fishing angler then these are the waders I would recommend to anybody. For just the weekend angler or the angler that comes up to the Eastern Sierra for vacations I would recommend Simms waders but go with a cheaper model. I've fished the G3s for weeks at a time on the Trinity River charging through the black barry bushes in the hunt for steelhead and countless hours in my float tube fishing Crowley Lake kicking around and still after 2 years there is hardly any wear and no leaks. So for your next upgrade for your fly fishing outings the Simms G3s are a must.
